Programmable Logic Controller

Our multi-channel universal measuring instrument, equipped with logical inputs and outputs, provides safe and reliable optimization of industrial processes. It helps you monitor, analyze, and improve your operations, maximize productivity, and reduce downtime with confidence.

The OMC 8000 PLC series is based on a modular architecture.

At the core of the system is a main module, to which up to 31 expansion modules can be connected. These modules may be installed either in close proximity or remotely. The maximum distance between the two most distant modules can be up to 40 meters. If this distance is insufficient, or if additional processing power or communication capacity is required (for example, by distributing the application across multiple PLCs), the main modules can be interconnected over virtually unlimited distances via UDP communication over Ethernet.

Communication between modules is provided through a CAN bus. As the number of modules increases, communication requirements and bus traffic should also be taken into account.

The main module can be powered by either 230 V AC or 24 V DC. It includes:

  • 3 digital inputs responsive to the supply voltage level
  • 6 universal inputs with a common ground terminal, isolated from the outputs and power supply

The analog inputs support the following signal types:

  • Analog voltage signals up to 30 V
  • Analog current signals up to 20 mA
  • Analog resistance signals up to 3.9 kΩ
  • Pt100, Pt1000, and Ni1000 temperature sensors
  • Thermocouples: B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, XK
  • KTY81-2xx temperature sensors

The pulse inputs support:

  • Pulse signals up to 30 V
  • Contact inputs and NPN open-collector signals
  • Two incremental encoder inputs (quadrature encoders)

The universal inputs can also be configured as two full quadrature up/down counters for incremental encoders, using two pulse signals shifted by 90° electrical phase plus a reference (index) pulse.

One pair of analog inputs can additionally be used as an RS-485 communication interface for connecting external devices such as:

  • Numeric or text displays
  • Simple operator panels
  • Panel indicators
  • Other compatible devices
